Believe the online hype about this place! It's as great as everyone says. The repair shop is a blend of decades of experience, contributed by BIll, updated with today's technology, contributed by his sons Michael and Mark. I brought my "96 Jetta in because I could smell gas. While i waited just a few minutes for paperwork to be written, I was introduced to their 2 dogs, and shown a picture of Bill's mother, who used to help him out in the office. It's like no one is a stranger there. Even the other customers are friendly.
Most importantly, they did great work at a very reasonable price. They used a state-of-the-art auto diagnostic equipment and drive my car around a bit. Then, before doing any work, Michael called me and went through each recommended repair, and detailed the cost of the part and labor for each. He talked to me one adult to another - honest and straightforward about all the essential information I needed.
My car hasn't run this well in many years. I'll definitely return and highly recommend them.
As for the location, they offer u a free cab to get to the 2/4 trains at Utica Ave. And there a several buses that will get you within a couple of blocks. Yes, we own cars but we live in a city with lots of public transportation.
